Even without the extended eight-hour battery that the early buyers received, the battery life is great. I've gotten as long as 6.5 hours or more, and usually get at least 5.5 hours. It will vary according to how bright you set your screen, how much you access hard drive and other activities. If you are not needing Wi-Fi, you can turn it off with the switch in front and get longer life.
This is my second Acer purchase, the first being the smaller (I believe it is 8.5 inches or 9) screen earlier blue model. Both are great.
This version for some reason doesn't have as many issues with returning from hibernation and seems faster than the first.
But both are great for my graduate-school work, with intense paper writing and Net-based research.
I do like that the button bar for the touch pad is in the front this time versus the sides.
